“Petraveller is genuinely interested in helping people relocate their pets.”
When several countries went into lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, Petraveller helped pet mum Emma relocate her adorable boy Milo from Melbourne to Chicago. Here’s their international pet relocation story.
Two months ago, Emma adopted a loving Domestic Shorthair cat named Milo and made him a part of her family. Emma recalls, “Milo was surrendered to the local vet with his sister. When I first met him, he immediately started purring, and it was like love at first sight! I chose him because he is excellent with both people and cats, so I thought he would be a great companion to my ginger cat in the US who loves to play. He also has some excellent eyeliner on one eye!”
Emma affectionately speaks of Milo and says, “Milo loves to be around people, he likes to move from room to room in the house to spend time with the different family members I currently live with. He loves to play and usually has at least one session of zoomies every day.”
Emma adds, “Milo is very friendly and settles down with new people quite easily, but he doesn’t like to be held. He will wriggle out all the time. He is also very food-oriented, and his favourite toy is a little crab on a string.”
Emma was moving to Chicago, US, to set up a new life with her fiancé, who is in the US Navy. She says, “When I found out that I had to move quite urgently due to my fiancé’s upcoming deployment, it was not an option to leave Milo behind. He is part of my family, and I am completely committed to looking after him and bringing him with me. I haven’t had him for long, but I have bonded with him quite strongly. He has been a great support during this difficult time when I was stuck in Australia, with no clear timeframe on when I could return to the United States.”
Emma decided to take the assistance of an international pet travel company to handle her pet’s journey to the United States. She reached out to many pet relocation companies in her search for the perfect pet travel partner to help relocate Milo. Emma says, “All the reviews I found online were amazing, and it sounded like the company cared about the pets and their owners. From experience, I completely agree with this. Petraveller has been extremely patient with all my questions and so supportive when I was stressed about moving Milo amid a pandemic.”
Emma adds, “All the big companies I spoke to demanded a deposit despite being unable to give me any guarantee that they could relocate Milo, but Petraveller never did. I felt a lot more comfortable leaving the care of my pet to a company who are genuinely interested in helping people get their pets relocated, and didn’t treat people like a cash cow.”
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Milo made his journey to Chicago effortlessly and is busy enjoying in his new home. Thank you, Emma, for trusting us and for your valuable feedback. We wish you great happiness and lots of cuddles to cute Milo!
