Does my pet need rabies vaccination to fly to Cyprus?

Pet dogs and cats travelling to Cyprus from Australia require a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel. Remember to implant the microchip before administering the rabies vaccine. Your pet can skip the mandatory 21-day wait period if the previous vaccination was administered after the microchip was implanted and the booster vaccination was administered when the previous vaccination was still valid. 

The vaccination details and the microchip number must be recorded in the pet health certificate.

Pets must be registered with the local council, and pets must always wear the registration tags on the collar. The dog licence must be renewed annually. Pets that are spayed or neutered receive a discount on the registration fee. Pet parents must pick up after their pets and dispose of the waste responsibly.
